1) How do I install INDIA THROUGH THE EYES OF R. K. LAXMAN - THEN TO NOW?

Before installing, check the System Requirements and the available disk space.

Installation from a downloaded setup

1. 

Download and save the RKLaxman.exe file.

2. 

Locate the RKLaxman.exe file saved on your system.

3. 

Double-click the RKLaxman.exe file to start the installation.

Once you finish installing the software, a shortcut icon    is created on the desktop. Additionally, you can also access the software by following the steps below:

  • Click the Start button on Windows, point to Programs, select Remittag, select R.K. Laxman and click INDIA THROUGH THE EYES OF R. K. LAXMAN - THEN TO NOW.

The default path where the software is installed is C:\Program Files\Remittag\R K Laxman\RKLaxman.exe, where C: will be replaced by the letter of your system drive.

Note:
  • The setup program will issue a number of prompts. Unless you have a reason to overwrite the defaults, it is strongly recommended that you accept the default settings during the installation.
  • It is recommended that you install the software only on your system drive.
  • It is recommended that the Windows* taskbar be kept in the default size and position at the bottom of your screen. Keeping the taskbar in any other position, or keeping any other toolbar active, may result in a distortion in the various screens of the software.
  • The software does not support the Compatibility Mode feature of Windows* XP. Hence, it is recommended that you do not change the default settings. To confirm this, right-click on the shortcut icon on your desktop, click Properties, and click on the Compatibility tab. The Run this program in compatibility mode for check box should be unchecked.
 
 

2) What is the minimum system configuration required for INDIA THROUGH THE EYES OF R. K. LAXMAN - THEN TO NOW?

To use INDIA THROUGH THE EYES OF R. K. LAXMAN - THEN TO NOW, your system should be equipped with the following:

   Hard Disk    75 MB of available free space (However, it is recommended that you should    have at least 250 MB of free Disk Space on the system drive for installation)

   Peripherals    Mouse or compatible pointing device
   Keyboard or compatible input device

  • 16-bit sound card and speakers


  • 28.8 Kbps modem


  • Microsoft Internet Explorer* 5.0 and above, or similar browsers


  • Screen resolutions - 800x600 and 1024x768


  • Deskjet / Inkjet / Laser Printer supporting minimum 300 dpi resolution


   Note: In case you are not sure of your system's specifications, please contact your computer vendor.
 
 

3) Can I print more than one cartoon at a time?

Yes. You can print as many cartoons as you want at a time. Each new cartoon will open in a new Microsoft Word* document. If Microsoft Word* is not the default text editor/not installed on your computer, then the software will open the card using WordPad*.

 
 

4) Can I change the default time for a Laughter Session?

Yes. In the Laughter Session dialog box, there is a Display After Every option. This option represents the time after which a new cartoon is displayed. You can change the default time (10 seconds) by typing any value between 10 to 60 seconds in this field.

 
 

5) Can I change the default time for the Scheduler?

Go to Top

Yes. In the Scheduler dialog box, there is a Pop Up After Every option, which represents the time after which a new cartoon pops up. You can change the default (10 minutes) time by typing any value between 1 minute to 24 hours in this field.

There is also a Close the Screen After option, which represents the time for which each cartoon remains displayed on your screen. You can change the default time (10 seconds) by typing any value between 10 to 60 seconds in this field.

 
 

6) Can I change the default time for the Screen Saver?

Yes. In the Screen Saver Settings dialog box, there is an Activate After option, that allows you to select the time after which the Screen Saver should be activated. You can change the default time (1 minute) by typing any value between 1 to 99 minutes in this field.

There is also a Close the Screen After option, which represents the time for which each cartoon remains displayed on your screen. You can change the default time (10 seconds) by typing any value between 10 to 60 seconds in this field.

 
 

7) Can I disable the music while viewing the Laughter Session/ Scheduler/ Screen Saver?

No. Once the Laughter Session/ Scheduler/ Screen Saver has started, you cannot disable the background music. You may only disable the music while configuring the settings for these modules. However, you can always mute your computer speakers, if you do not wish to hear the background music.

In the Laughter Session/ Scheduler/ Screen Saver dialog box, there is a Background Music check box, which allows you to enable or disable the background music.

The Background Music check box is selected by default.
